Art: How Funny

This piece is titled: "How Funny"! This piece contains my ocs Sato and Tatsu!
Sato is poisonous, so they wonder why Tatsu plans to eat them, thinking it's either he doesn't know that Sato is poisonous, or he is playing dumb.
About the characters
Sato is a six-armed, blue haired crown of thorns starfish! Sato is a creature that able to regenerate.
Tatsu is a cannibalistic futakuchi! Tatsu hides his cannibalistic tendency by working as an artist, simply saying the blood on his apron is red paint, while covering the smell of the blood with the smell of oil based paint.
Their relationship is a rough one. Tatsu was banished from his home because of his cannibalistic tendency and he resort to live in the old shack near the forest and a pond. One day, Sato shows up on the pond. Tatsu, thinking that Sato is a human meat buffet, kindly let them go in his shack, before showing his true nature.
Concepts
This art was meant to express their relationships and maybe hint at their story.
The words on the corner, is what Sato thought to themself. The sentences "But at the same time, I can't help but wonder if, You're just playing dumb." was meant to be a haiku.
Sato's clothes is black, while Tatsu's clothes is white; even though the good person is Sato and the bad person is Tatsu. Sato's thorns has the color of Tatsu's hair, while Tatsu's apron has the color of Sato's hair.
If you see properly, Sato's hands are trying to push away Tatsu.
I hope you guys realize this little tidbits i left for someone who observing the details of my works.
Progress
This is the second art i made since i got myself a pen tablet. Take a look at the first art here I often draw in a portrait canvas and simply a bust up, so i wanted to draw in a landscape and at least a knee up. It ended up with somewhat of a square instead though w I tried to draw it and struggled heavily, so i thought to just scrap the idea all together. It was the time where i still struggled to use CSP, obviously it was because i am new to this drawing in pen tab stuff. My friend then told me that you can use the 3D model!!! Life changing. I immediately tested it to this idea i had for Sato and Tatsu for the longest time, and quickly able to draw it. The proportion was too different for my liking, and this was time before i figure out how to change the model, so i just ended up modifying it myself.
Drawing it was really hard at the sketch to lineart phase as i haven't find brush that works for me at that time. I ended up wasting a lot of time just to clean up the sketch. Coloring was also hard, as the color on my laptop is different than the color on my phone. Base coloring is hell as the brush i used for lineart is not as thick as i would like it to be, and bucket tool didn't respond properly. At this point in time i also was experimenting with my coloring style. The shading turned out to be not very deep, but somehow still good.
The reason the background is crab is just because i like the shape of the crab (lol) and is somewhat relevant to Sato because they are from water so i just YOLO it. I painted over a real picture of crab i found on google. I ended up liking it a lot. This was my second attempt in abstract art. For the sea, i didn't really think much, and somehow it turned out great. Now i love drawing the sea.
Despite the hardships, i still love this art months after making it. I hope you like this art as much as i do.
