This piece contains my oc Fukai!
This is a parody of a song named Monitoring by DECO*27. In the context of my oc, Fukai who has just isolated himself come back to Assassin Association with newfound confidence and appearance. Torii, who was alone in the A.A. at the time, didn't know that Fukai has become a mutant and didn't answer the door because he thinks it was a random stranger who has come up to the door and lock him outside.
About the character
Fukai is a mutant that makes his body part, especially around the face, disordered and muddled into this weird abstract gore mess. Here's a full uncolored picture of his whole weird abstract gore mess!!
He is a member of Assassin Association, a little group of assassin with 5 members, division close-range hand-combat.
Before becoming a mutant, Fukai is a really shy and easily nervous person, having zero confidence. He only feels like he worth something when doing his mission. He is accepted by the whole A.A. and treated as an equal, but he always feel like he's worse than anyone else, not knowing that everyone cared about him deeply.
After the mutant virus spread in the world, he gets the virus. Not wanting to to spread the virus to his dear A.A. members and to be seen with a very weird appearance, he isolates himself, not letting anyone know about his condition. This isolation and his changing appearance makes him more and more nervous and his confidence drops below zero.
One day, after he's fully become mutant, The boss of A.A. comes visit his house to ask the reason of his absence. He didn't want to open the door and pretend to be not home, but since he knew that he can't beat boss, he gave up and open the door unwillingly. The boss doesn't show any reaction and treat him like normal, and even cared and question why he went away and told him to at least go to A.A. even if he might don't want to do work as they enjoy his presence. Baffled, he ask her why, and she just replied that him becoming a mutant doesn't seem to change his personality that much, and that Fukai is still Fukai. He once again confused, because if he is still he, he is still the worst person on the planet either way, and boss is surprised, nt knwing that Fukai feel that way all this time, and mention that Fukai is actually her favorite member of A.A.
After Boss leaves, Fukai contemplates why he feel so insecure of himself despite Boss, someone who is very inexpressive and not easily impressed, someone who he look up to, says that he is her favorite member. Not Tendou who is very extroverted and cheerful and good at her job despite being flashy, not Torii who is very good at data analysis, disguising, spying, thinking of strategy, and erasing his presence, not Gray who even though he is quite grumpy at times, does his mission without hesitation, quickly and accurately. But him. After that, he become more confident in himself.

Other stuff about Fukai:
The reason he's wearing an eyepatch is because his left eye can be taken off from it's socket and he has to use it or else it will accidentally drop and splat to the floor.
The ponytail originally blue-colored, only his sides that was dyed pink. It's changes to a green color because of his mutation.
His mutation is constantly moving and floating around him. If touched by someone that haven't got the vaccine, the person will get the same type of mutation on them. If touched by someone who already has a vaccine, nothing happened. He can feel it if touched, so please refrain from touching :3
The bird bone thingy is a separate entity from him. Usually quiet, but can speak. Others can only hear garbled nonsense, only Fukai understand it.
Concepts
This art doesn't have much concept because this is simply a parody of a song.
Progress
This is indeed the first time i draw Fukai, but even so, it was not planned, as i simply sketch random stuff on my sketchdump file and suddenly Fukai was born. It was really spontaneous, even the plan to make it a parody of monitoring is also spontaneous!!! So i didn't even record the canvas for a speedpaint!!!!
I draw it in a daze, so i don't really remember how it goes, but i really like making the effects. and i really like the whole bold colors. I really feel like the monitoring artstyle, the one that is very bold colored yet brings out this subtle creepiness, is what i want my artstyle to be! I also really like the abstract feel! this is definitely one of my favorite artwork of 2024 besides How funny! Also the whiplash of the art before this and this one is crazy because the previous one was filled with white and this one i bring my whole potential in bold colors!!! i love bold colors so much!!!
Also, i adore Fukai so much actually, he is one of my favorite oc in 2024. I wonder if next year i will change my favorite oc or he will stay! His design is all i want in an art piece!!!
