Art: Sweet Air
This piece is titled: "Sweet Air"! (I just come up with it rn for this blog lol) This piece contains my oc Sol! An abstract piece as my first art made using pen tablet!
About the character
Sol is a NEET who doesn't get out from his room. Hikkikomori, you could say. He's a burden to everyone, yet keep living as he is to spite everyone. Miserable human with hateful personality.
Concepts
This art was meant to simply try out the new pen tablet i have, while trying out abstract art at the same time.
For the text, it was the time where i started putting shitty random quotes i made in my diary, and i wanted to incorporate it somewhat in my art.
There's no other concepts as i was winging it w
Progress
Basically, what happened was after i installed csp and xp pen driver and set up everything, i opened the csp and was greeted with the white, blank canvas. At the time was just testing how it works, i said to myself "Lets draw a little doodle!" and then suddenly 5 hours has passed with a full blown artwork in front of me. I haven't eaten anything or get off my seat and just draw for 5 whole hours in one sitting. I didn't know what happened lol it's just suddenly evening.
I remember struggling very hard because the menu is really different from ibis paint x (obviously) so searching for stuff takes most of my time and in the end i just simply gave up and use what i know only lol. The brush is not the kind of brush i usually use (any textured thick brush without opacity variation, only thickness) so it looks odd, and i remember i was despairing especially at zooming in and out and move the canvas while zooming in because i used the scroll bar instead at that time. As the color is different from my phone and my palette isn't there, i struggled coloring the hair so it looks odd w.
My favorite part is the fluff and the background for sure, though i don't remember how exactly i drew them both. I only vaguely remember going bonkers because csp has the automatic outerline thingy and going ham over it (you might understand from the art alone w). Most of the color and background ideas (?) was heavily referenced from my favorite artist, Mishima Hiro-sensei (@STtrrrmsm)!!! though the deep-sea fish and the eyeball plant was my own idea, i don't remember how i came up with it... i was so locked in for real.
There's things that i feel like i could do better, but looking back, it is certainly a good art... i want to draw more things with the abstract vibe like this...
